Cassowary Conservancy

A Conservancy With a Practical Mission

CCNA is a nonprofit organization based on approximately 18.77 acres in Fort Pierce, Florida. Our work centers on cassowaries and other ratites through professional animal care, responsible breeding, education, rescue and placement, and collaboration with qualified zoological and research partners.

Meaningful conservation requires more than admiration. It requires secure facilities, careful recordkeeping, experienced animal management, honest public education, and long-term planning.

Why This Work Matters

Cassowaries are powerful rainforest birds with specialized needs and limited representation in managed populations. Responsible conservation programs help preserve knowledge, maintain healthy bloodlines, support scientific study, and teach the public why these birds matter in their native ecosystems.

Our goal is not unrestricted public access. Future visits will be structured, guided educational experiences only after appropriate facility improvements, permits, and safety systems are in place.
