Meet the Cassowaries.
Get to know the remarkable birds cared for by CCNA, including northern and southern cassowaries and other ratites.
Northern Cassowaries: Artemis & Piggy
Northern cassowaries are among the most distinctive birds at CCNA. Artemis and Piggy help us share accurate information about cassowary biology and conservation.
Individual bird portraits and profiles can be expanded as additional approved photographs are added.

Southern Cassowaries
Meet Cadbury, Ginger, Godiva, Louise, Lucky, Malachite, and Pugsley, the southern cassowaries currently in CCNA’s care.
Cassowaries are not petting-zoo animals. Our facility prioritizes appropriate containment, professional care, and respectful observation.
Other Ratites
CCNA also cares for and works with ostriches, emus, and rheas. These species provide valuable opportunities to teach visitors about flightless birds, comparative biology, and responsible animal management.
